Hello friends,
Monday is a "No School for Students" day, and there is a chance that we may have some weather in our area that causes us to miss school. What do you do on your day off? I know you will make time for some fun. How will you practice what you have been learning at school? Our hjtech page has links to many different practice sites. If you are looking for other ways to practice, you could read books, play board games or write a letter! :) Below are some links to game ideas that use only dice and plain playing cards. Dice and Card Games to Practice Math Facts Farkle (Requires 6 dice.) Six Easy Math Games Using Dice I would love to hear how you spent your day off and if you tried one of the games that I've shared above! -Mrs. Prince Dear Weather Watchers,
Welcome back to school! We have already experienced some very cold weather! I hope you stayed warm on our day out of school. The temperatures have been changing a lot since December. During our winter break, the high temperature was 59 degrees! On the day school was cancelled, the high temperature was 30 degrees. We will be collecting data about the temperature and weather to use in a project in the Technology Lab. What is the difference between the two temperatures? What were some things you did on the day school was cancelled? I would also like to hear about any good books you read during break! Your fellow weather watcher, Mrs. Prince We have had a very busy couple of weeks at school! I know you have been working hard and are looking forward to spending some time at home with your families. I enjoy time at with my family, but I am thankful for all of my friends at our school. What is something you are thankful for?
During your break, take some time to read a book, play a board game and use some of the links for practice on the HJTech weebly! Dear scholars, This week, our first report cards of the school year are going home. What learning or work are you most proud of? I know you have been working hard. What is something that you still need to practice in class? Some things are harder to learn than others. What is something that you would like to learn about before the next report card? I can't wait to hear all about it! Sincerely, Mrs. Prince Write to Mrs. Prince at the link below: http://tinyurl.com/lettersfromthelab October 6, 2014
Hello learners, I hope you are enjoying your Fall Break. We have been enjoying books and board games at our house. I hope you include time for these activities during your break! What board game do you like to play? We played Monopoly yesterday. I didn't win, but I had a lot of fun. I hope to play the card game Spoons later this week. We have been listening to the story The Borrowers by Mary Norton and reading Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. The poems are very funny! What will you read during Fall Break? I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, Mrs. Prince Write to me at the link below: http://tinyurl.com/lettersfromthelab September 29, 2014
Dear friends, I have noticed several changes outdoors that tell me the season is changing. Have you noticed this as well? Do you participate in any activities or sports that begin when the season changes? Which season do you like best? I can think of a reason to like each season, but I like Spring the best, because the plants begin to grow and bloom again. I can't wait to hear from you! Sincerely, Mrs. Prince Write back to me using the link below: http://tinyurl.com/lettersfromthelab Dear pupils,
I would love to hear about what you are learning this week. What has been your favorite lesson? Why did you like it? What work are you proud of this week? This week's letter is short! Dear learners, I hope you found your jackets this weekend! I went to the park with my family. While we were there, we all wished we had worn long sleeves. It was much cooler than we expected. Did you get to go outside this weekend? We climbed a tree. We also saw a train engine. Write back soon! Tell me about your weekend. Can you find at least 3 different types of sentences in my letter? I used a declarative, interrogative and some exclamatory sentences. When you reply, try to use as many different types of sentences as you can. Sincerely, Mrs. Prince |
